The EMRG is connected to several International and National networks. Among others: Climate KIC, Fraunhofer-Gesellshaft, Emilia-Romagna Region High Technology Network.

Climate KIC

Climate-KIC is Europe’s largest public-private innovation partnership, working together to address the challenge of climate change.

The EMRG participated in three Climate KIC Projects:

  • TAPYRO: Thermochemical apparatus for weed control fuelled with renewable biomass.
  • BioHorizons: Horizon scanning of the Bio-Based industry in Europe.
  • MuBiGen: Application of the IFBB-technology (Integrated generation of solid Fuel and Biogas from Biomass): hydrothermal conditioning and mechanical dehydration of the biomass.

Fraunhofer-Gesellshaft

Fraunhofer-Gesellshaft is Europe’s largest application-oriented research organization, with more than  22,000 staff members, more than 66 research institutes, an annual research budget of 1.9 billion euro and 10 Offices & Project Centers in Asia Pacific.

The EMRG is linked to the Fraunhofer-Gesellshaft through a Collaboration Agreement with the University of Bologna, for activities in collaboration with the Institute Fraunhofer UMSICHT, Sulzbach-Rosenberg Branch.

Emilia-Romagna Region High Technology Network

The Regional Operational Programme of the European Regional Development Fund for the period 2007-2013, approved by decision C (2007) 3875 of 7 August 2007 of the European Commission, makes available 347 million Euro for the purpose of bringing the Emilia-Romagna Region into line with the Lisbon and Göteborg objectives of growing investment in R&D, creating the knowledge society and setting widespread bases for sustainable development.

The EMRG participates in the Emilia-Romagna Region High Technology Network through the Interdepartmental Center for Industrial Research – Energy and Environment (CIRI-EA) which is part of the Network.
